As part of the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, this musical production focuses on the lives of six individuals from both the North and South whose fates are forever changed by the war and the Battle of Gettysburg.
Essay Contest on the Civil War! Your student can win a $50 savings bond by answering one of the essay questions:
1. There were many issues which fueled the Civil War 150 years ago - slavery and racial strife, state's rights, immigration issues and cultural differences between the North and South to name a few. In our present day, which of these issues still cause conflict in our world?
2. The Civil War began because people had different beliefs and ways of living. One hundred and fifty years later, why is it important to remember the Civil War?

The Arts in Education initiative integrates school curriculum, moral lessons and/or historical perspective through the performing arts. It is our goal to provide students and teachers with a full performing arts experience. Performances are intimate and typically last one hour, with the ability to talk with the performers after the show – a rare and wonderful opportunity for enhanced learning. Study guides are also available, which provide educationally rich lesson for teachers to do with their students before and/or after attending the show.
You may print out the order form which outlines the upcoming performances, corresponding grade levels and dates. This form serves as your formal agreement to participate for the interested performance date and time requested. Each performance is $10/ticket for students, teachers and chaperones. Forms can be faxed to Julie Paltauf at (203) 438-4543 or you can call or email the box office staff at (203) firstname.lastname@example.org.
